Question about bytes and searching bytes

Postby ZeroCool » Wed Feb 13, 2008 4:56 am

When I look at most memory editors I always see byte, 2byte, 4byte, and 8byte

What do bytes have to do with searching values?

For example I searched by byte to find and hack my 3 heart health in zelda.

But when happends when I search 8 bytes to hack health or 4 bytes?

Do I get more wrong addresses?

Please someone explain how bytes should be searched in the game

have a look at the "Data-type Search" page under "About searching" in the help file.. (the size/range column is what you need to pay attention to..

ie. a value of for instance 50000 gold is too big for 1 byte, you need at least 2 bytes to store that value in... so unsigned short :-)
- No thanks, I already have a penguin -
