If you have just changed the file extension and wish to change it back:
Firstly, open Windows Explorer, go to Tools -> Folder Options -> View -> Uncheck 'Hide extensions for known file types'

Browse back to the used-to-be .dll file. It should look like 'example.*file-extension-*' or it might just have the file name by itself. If so, either, change the new file-extension back to .dll or if it just has the file name, add '.dll' to the end of it; so, after you have completed all this, it should look like this: example.dll

Good luck.
