WAnting to get a soundblaster

i want to get a SB card because my ALC888 is really crappy and drivers fu*ked up again.
Which sb card is good???
i had 1 PCI slot available, 0 PCI express x16 slots available and 2 PCI express x1 slots left.
btw is ALC888 really that bad???
btw i want my card to be compatible with alsa and pulseaudio
ALC888 is only compatible with pulse and after an upgrade pulse is not working
