Multiple lowest values when trying to find a pointer.

Postby Martin » Sun Nov 29, 2009 8:02 am

I just started using MHS today and i'm just trying to work figure out how to find a pointer.
Every time I try and get anywhere I end up with multiple lowest values in one of the searches.
Can someone tell me what i'm doing wrong?

Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Here's a pic I wasn't too clear on what I mean.

You haven’t done anything wrong. If you get multiple values then try them all or at least a few.
If you want fewer values, hack a larger game.

Sometimes, if you notice how one of the lowest is in an address range by itself (00AB06C7), the address can be found easily by eliminating from the rest.

Notice how the rest of the values all begin with 00C?????, well if you try them and nothing becomes available you can try the one all alone to see if that one will give you the right complex address. This trick doesn't work for all games but it comes in handy sometimes for the smaller games. ;)
