Array of Bytes

Postby Jambo » Wed Aug 19, 2009 3:13 am

I don't have much time to write but I'll explain shortly...

You can search for Byte of Arrays in Cheat Engine, so how do I do it in MHS? I'm not a noob at this, but I just don't know how to do it in MHS.

Please help me when you have time. :)

Thanks

Since you are looking for a hex string, you should use a String Search with Hex String selected.

Thanks you very much! I'll try that and if it doesn't work I'll tell you

edit: I couldn't find any addresses by doing that but it might be at the addresses(?) then... the addresses(?) were like
"49 6E 73 74 44 61 6D 61 67 65"

I couldn't find anything in MHS, but it might be because the addresses(?) are outdated

If parts of the string have changed but not others, convert the Hex String to an ASCII string and use a Wildcard search, replacing the changed bytes with question marks.

An example follows:

Original String: 49 6E 73 74 44 61 6D 61 67 65
Assumed to Change: 73 74
Converted to ASCII (Use the Converter Tool in MHS with Alt Displays Checked): InstDamage
Replacing the 3rd and 4th Characters: In??Damage
Search for Wildcard String “ In??Damage”.

Since your Hex String is really just a regular ASCII string, it may have changed in an update, but it is more likely that you did not search the proper range or some other error caused MHS to fail.

MHS may fail if:
#1: The game uses an anti-cheat such as nProtect Game Guard.
#2: You are using Windows 7 or Windows Vista with a Service Pack (1 or 2) and you have not disabled the kernel functions in MHS via the Options dialog.
#3: Your value is wrong.
