hey guy how are u

now i try to edit login.dat or somthing like that
and now i got problem
when i open the file it go like this

i think on the right suppose to be a word not a number right?
but why it show up a number?

Easy, you have the "Base Option" as Long, Short, or whatever. It needs to be set to "Char" if you want to have the right side convert to Characters.

To change this, open the Hexeditor, go to View > Base Options. Then change Current Layer > Datatype to "Char". You can do to same for Default > Datatype to change the default type the right side gets converted to.

There is no problem with the screenshit.
If you can not read it, then you need to learn how.

Once you think you have something to edit, just click there and start typing.

Well, its just not coded in Characters.

The hex editor is trying to show you a bunch of values that happen to be numerical : Long, Short, Float, etc..

You're forcing it to read as characters, and thats why you can't understand it.. Because its not written as characters.
