[Win7] Problems with Search-Function

Postby iZotope » Fri Jan 07, 2011 7:23 am

Hey Community.
I hope someone is active here.

I experienced some problems with MHS in Windows7 x32bit.
I read through some peoples problems, that are on Win7 base too, but my problem is kind of different.
I always read "Disable Kernelmode". But that makes no difference for me.

I start up some Memory-Unprotected Game like http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aLrWwmnt2po.
If I start the MHS in Administrator Mode or in Compatibility Mode there appears this "No results found" MessageBox directly after I press "OK" in the SearchForm. (I thought Memory Hacks must have Admin-Privileges..)
But if I start it without Admin Rights or Compatibility Mode it works o.O

Has nothing to do with "Disable Kernelmode"..

But my problem is:
Normally I use "Cheat Engine" for finding Memory-Addresses. But the game I want to "analyze" has a protection ("Hackshield"). I activated some obfuscation-options like change title and so..
If I start the MHS in Administrator Mode the Search Function does not work.
But if I start the MHS in "Normal Mode" the "Hackshield" recognises it and kills it and the game.

Any solution for this?

Thanks in advance..

Use Modify Self.

If that does not work, download the MHS source and modify every string you can find.
This creates a UMHS.

Use Modify Self.

I activated some obfuscation-options like change title and so..

;)

I tried to do something with the sourcecode, but I don't know anything about c/c++.
My eyes are used to vb.net language..
There are "Windows Forms" in it.
But in your c++ project I can't seem to find any of these..

Sry I'm too stupid for c++..

#edit:
Something else.
My situation kinda improved, but I still have some problems.
I can now attach the MHS to my game client that is protected by "Hackshield".
I search for an address, that contains a string
But this address is not static.
When I press "Find out what reads from this address" the Game client crashes..
So I can't find any non-static addresses.. :(

P.S.: Congrats to your 3000th posting ;)

Find What Accesses This Address is not the only way to track pointers down to a base.
There are plenty of tutorials on non-debugger methods, though I can’t remember who posted them.

Hint: Pointer Search.

I have done exactly what Spiro said here. It might be of some (if not entire) help:
