Problem during hex-editing

I don't know if this is a common issue, but my problem is...
The hex editor (with the proccess opened) won't let me modify some values. They just remain as they were before.
Once I've re-written some values, I do press ENTER when I try to change those values, but nothing happens. And it's the same problem when I hit the DEL key.
Am I doing something wrong? Is the process protected or something like that? :/
I am using MHS 6.1
