MHS 4.0.0.11’s Speed Hack problem

Postby WhiteHat » Wed Dec 19, 2007 7:24 am

I’ve tried speed hack on 2 reflexive’s mini-games: Turtix and Armada Tanks,
but it was not change the games speed. I’ve tried different numerator and
denominator, changed from window mode to full-screen mode, and still there
was no effect... It was not even work for Minesweeper’s timer...

Does anyone tried this new feature and get it work ?

Thanks in advance.

The Speed Hack was not finished; it only hooked timeGetTime() in 4.0.0.11.

The current build now hooks all important timer-related functions.

Speed Hack of MHS 4.0.0.12 works much much better.
I've tried on Armada Tank, Turtix, and Battlefield 2 all
are single player games and speed hack works perfect
both decreased or increased speed...

However, there are some games which speed hack does
not work: Minesweeper and MAME32 arcade emulator
games...

Also, it would be great if MHS speed hack feature has its
own shortcuts. For example :
- alt + 1 = Normal speed
- alt + 2 = half speed
- alt + 3 = double speed
...and they are customizable...

Just a little suggestion... :)

For emulators you need to set the emulator setting that limits the frames per second.
If it does not have one, you can not be sure whether the Speed Hack will work or not.

For Minesweeper, it does not work because I did not hook SetTimer.
It may be hooked in the next release, though I somehow don’t see that you care too much about Minesweeper.
Try Space Pinball at 6/1 speed.

Hotkeys for this are already planned.
Parm 1 = Numerator.
Parm 2 = Denominator.
Key toggles Speed Hack on and off with the supplied values.

I was trying those games that i suspected to have different ‘timing system’
and see if MHS speed hack worked on them...

It seems there is no options in MAME32 which limits the fps, except the one
which give the player to skip every 1 ~ 12 frames per seconds. But i can say
that MHS speed hack works on MAME32 but in the GUI menu (not in game).
The drop down menu slowed down when i set 1/10 speed...

Indeed... But i read your tutorial on boting minesweeper which is very cool...

It worked... And i can only score 115,725... o.O
