templates/visual display of structures in the hexeditor

Postby mezzo » Wed Nov 28, 2007 6:43 pm

Any idea when they will be coming back ?
Or some other way to have a nice graphical view of structures in the hexeditor would be nice.

I often find myself playing around with the inventory in games, most of the time, one inventory slot is a structure. It would be nice to be able to 'describe' the structure (in he helper for instance) and give 'pretty colours' to all the different fields in the structure :-)

I'm guessing that would give the hex editor the edge over all the other hexeditors out there *wink*

After I make the function/structure database used with the Disassembler, which will be December or January.

cool, thnx :-)

might I make another small request ?
I seem to be spending quite a lot of time in the 'functions' list in the code editor, and while I do have a massive screen, it would be nice if when the 'functions' tab is undocked, I could minimize it instead of having to resize it each time. (alternatively, if all the functions would be in the helpfile that would help too, but I think it's less work to simply give the functions tab a minimize button.)

nothing important, but would be nice if you could tag it at the deep end of your todo list :D

All dockable windows use the same code; it is impossible to change one without changing all the rest.
Furthermore, I have forgotten off the top of my head but I am fairly sure tooltip windows can not be minimized natively via Windows.

The function are in the help file.

It was the zlib ones that I didnt find in the helpfile..

but as I said, no biggie ! it's no prob for me to work around it.
(now I have an excuse to get a second 24")

I would rather have you code then spend time on writing helpfiles...
(my boss would not be happy with me making statements like that :D)

The function list in the help file is automatically generated so it takes no effort to write and it is guaranteed to be accurate and include all functions.

I forgot to add a reference page to the help file index, but the file itself was generated and can be accessed from the function list:
Script Function Reference

This gives me good enough reason to make a new release today.
