Blue screen when watching memory reades/writes

Postby Real » Sat Apr 19, 2008 6:50 am

I'm using this tool for a few days and it is really great. Thanks for that.

However when I've found a memory location and click on "Find What Writes This Address" my computer gives a blue screen. STOP 0x00000124. It's with all games. I've tried changing the "kernel" options, doesn't help though.

Using this feature in OllyDbg (both hardware and software) doesn't give any problem. But MHS is easier to use, so I hope I will find a solution for this.

I'm using Vista x86 (no SP) with a single core processor (AMD 3800+).

Be sure you are using the new MHS 4.017 that was posted only a few days ago and do not enable the AAC/Layer-1 Protections.

If you need protections, enable Layer-1 Protections but leave everything on Off.

This is impossible unless:
#1: You have Windows Vista SP1.
#2: You have bizarre hardware settings.

I found out what it was causing. The problem disappeared when I disabled the second page file, that was on a different drive than Windows.
