Every time we press keys correspond to the note playing, there are 4 possible hit types: Miss, Bad, Good, Perfect.. The game must have different values to identify that hits, and i found these particular values along with the hit types:
- Miss = 1
- Bad = 2
- Good = 3
- Perfect = 4
So, i debug the game and force-jump the code to eliminate value 1 and 2 and assign them as 3. The result was i always got Good hit even if i didn’t push any keys (which i should got Miss or Bad), and still had to push the key on-time to get Perfect Hit...
I believe that this game, HighStreet 5, or the same kind like Dance Dance Revolution, uses the same logic...

1.search for value that show in game.
2.find for increased or decreased value.

Wonder why I can't Install the song package?
Whitehat wrote:My condolence too, Shin...
I’ve re-installed StepMania and i can confirm that you should put all your songs package in Songs sub-folder within your StepMania installation folder.
I’ve also tried to hack it and found out that it use the very similar logic as the one of O2Jam. We can further discuss about it should there is someone interested...
As per Minorutono idea, i’ve tried exactly what he said. But the game won’t stop the timer. Here is what happened:
On music selection menu, there is a timer at upper-right corner of the screen. I pressed [ALT]+[+] (which is my MHS hotkey to freeze the targeted process) to pause the game process...
The timer was stopped at 34, but my mind kept counting it down. I pressed [ALT]+[-] (which is my MHS hotkey to un-freeze the targeted process) after about 10 seconds.. The game process was resumed and the timer showed 23 (not 33 as i expected)..
I don’t really understand about this, but i guess that timer somehow connected to my PC timer... Even strange was when i use MHS speed hack to slow the process, it DID work. The timer was slowing down... *confused*
IMO, i don’t think slowing or pausing process for such games (music games) is a good idea. We better find any other way around to hack it. Please correct if i’m wrong...

I exploited the end of stage hit recap. The one which looks like this:
- Bad = 0
- Miss = 4
- Good = 30
- Perfect = 24
From here, i back-traced the code to find the one which determines each hit types value, and altered it to give GoOD hits instead of MISS or BAD.. So there was no need to pause the game...shinnsohai wrote:Erm... About "PE",you got any idea to do it?

I have never done this kind of hack, so i don't know..tiduswong wrote:hmm ryo can this do on audition sea?? >.< the game it wont let player to alt+tab out as i knowed my cousin keep nagging me to find something useful for auditionsea
I'm not sure with auditionsea... But if it's genre is music-beat game, then there's a chance for similarity..
There should be some useful apps to force auditionsea to allow task switching... Or you can try CE which, AFAIK, has network debugging feature (allows you to play the game in PC #1, and debug it at the same time through connected PC #2)..shinnsohai wrote:anyway...most of u guys prefer which searching style?

That depends on the game... I prefer the easiest one possible.
Try download this DDR like game from here: http://www.stepmania.com/
It could be a good game for hacking practice...
