[HELP] Float VS Double

Postby Uytk » Sat Apr 12, 2008 2:07 pm

Can anyone tell me the difference between the two? I have no idea where to post so I posted it here... Well, actually I wanted to hack into Warcraft 3, into the core of the game system.

Currently, I'm trying to hack a Hero's MP, so I can spam Spells all in one go.

Can anyone tell me the difference and tips on hacking MP?

PS. I just read the Help file, I think it may be in Long or Unsigned Long but I had no luck for going there =(
"If youth, throughout all history, had had a champion to stand up for it; to show a doubting world that a child can think; and, possibly, do it practically; you wouldn’t constantly run across folks today who claim that “a child don’t know anything." ... ..."

Float is 4 bytes and Double is exactly 2 times bigger than float, aka 8 bytes..
Thats why they call it double i quess.

Float & Double can also contain commas & be negative or positive. Not all data types can do that, for example INT cant contain commas though it can have positive or negative values like float & double.

Thats the simplest way i could explain it to you..

I would recommend reading on this subject:

Float size is 4 bytes while Double is 8 bytes...
Both of them are floating-point numbers. Only, Double offers more precision.
According to MHS helpfile : float is much more common because its accuracy
is sufficient, yet it is smaller and faster than doubles.

For Hero’s of Warcraft 3, MP is stored as Float data-type. And not Long nor
Unsigned Long data-type.

And, i guess, you’ve posted this question in wrong section...
