GDC In San Francisco, then Tokyo

Postby L. Spiro » Thu Jan 31, 2008 1:07 pm

I will be attending GDC (Game Developer’s Conference) next month in San Francisco from the 18th to the 22nd.

If you will be attending feel free to visit my company’s booth (Sanuk Games).

After the show (which ends on my birthday) I will be off to Japan for a few days as a birthday present to myself.

Add a few days to this and you get the total time I may not be working much on MHS or visiting the site. When I attended game conferences in Malaysia I was able to work on MHS in the hotal room (this is where I did 90% of the Hex Editor) and I can probably do the same in San Francisco, but I will probably not be able to visit the site.

I will soon be appointing someone as a moderator. He or she does not know he or she is about to be a moderator.
Who will it be?

Watch out, or it could be you!

grr, why are all those conferences in the States... No way I can convince my company to get a little trip across the ocean :-)

How about you come to Europe for a conference ? Would love to have a chat in person with you !!

Either way, have a good conference, and a VERY happy birthday..
(and take care in Malaysia, wasn't that the place the ladyboy tried to hit on you????)

Thank you all.

I spent 22 years in America already and frankly San Francisco is my most hated city followed by Houston. I later found out San Francisco is the gay capital of America, followed by—you guessed it—Houston (these are real statistics).

I hated these cities long before I knew of these statistics.

I am sure I will have fun traveling but I am quite bored of America already and really only want to go to Japan.

Having 35 million people in one place makes it easier to find the one for me.

Why not study in Japan? My friend Qhimm (http://www.qhimm.com/) studied there for a semester.

私と話すオランダ語、フランス語、ドイツ語と英語。日本とロシアのは興味深いものです。私の父は英語だから少なくとも、それはとても簡単だ。

Was brought up in dutch and english (flemish mother, english father), learned french in school. Had to learn basic Korean when I was around 12 to be able to continue my taekwondo classes, german when I became 16. Worked for a large American company for 8 years, which was fully english speaking and right now I'm doing a contracting job for a large bank, which involves me to integrate our french branches into the corporate network, so loads of french (they don't speak anything else)....

It's difficult to keep your head on all those things :-) learning new languages is getting increasingly difficult for an 'old' guy like me :p

(oh and thanks for the vote of confidence in moderator.. but it's up to L.Spiro, if he wants I can do it..)
