I’m trying to familiarize FL8 more by ‘cut’ some repetitive parts of the song,

I feel like to do so because that’s what i see in most of FL8 sample songs...
To cut the samples themselves into their own smaller .wav file, pess f9 to open the Mixer. To the right side on the Mixer, you'll see a bunch of rectangles. On the left side of the rectangles, there will be small triangles, press on the triangle and select "Edison". Its an audio editor. Drag drop your file into Edison and cut large sections out of the wave form, instead of the piano roll. Then save your cut sample and reload THAT into FL. It won't come as a Piano Roll, but its faster and easier for large sections.
