Pointers in Flash Games

I've been bored, so I spent some time on Heli Attack IIIhackin.

I easily got Inf. ammo and 0 Cyclic rate, found how to get a gun without having it previously.

But the addy changes every new level, and thats really annoying.

So I tried to get the pointer for it and failed miserably.

I believe one time I got an infinite loop (don't recall)
and recently I actually got a pointer, but it was a false one.

So. I believe at one point L. Spiro said something about how hacking Flash Games is like hacking an Emulator, and then something about that. But I don't remember where that was so I can't reference it.

So.. Is getting Pointers in Flash games different? Because I can hack the values easy as pie, but the pointers are troubling.

You attempted to hack the online version or did you download it? If you downloaded it is it an .exe or a .swf ?

I have never hacked a Flash game, but it is entirely likely that the pointers are emulated, which means they are encoded with a special meaning to the Flash interpreter and most likely used in a look-up to translate them to an actual (virtual) non-virtual address.

I have no insight to offer as to how these may be stored.

Its easy to hack, I just can't get pointers for it.
