Postby bluetoast » Sun Mar 15, 2009 3:59 pm

Heres a short list of questions for all the competent script kiddies/hackers out there.

1)What inspired you to start hacking games.

2)What techniques/who helped you out the most when learning how to hack.

3)Did you learn a low level language first or....

1) Well, I was always into gaming and computer related things, so hacking just seemed like the next step.

2) Its best to start with the Cheat Engine Tutorial so you understand basic principles of MHS, CE, etc. Then after that just find an easy game to hack and hack it.

3) I'm still a noob, Im going into Hex Editing and ASM right now..

1) It's very interesting for me to play beyond the game.

2) You need to have a long attention span.

3) Started off with c++, then adapted to c#. However i seem to be hitting a wall when understanding asm(through olly)

thx for the quick reply.

1) My big-mouthed cousin beat my record.. I ‘avenged’ him by modifying the record file (hex editing).. It happened when i was about 12 years old.

2) My basic (first step) technique was hex editing. MHS and hacking game forums helped me most in developing my knowledge... Still have a lot to learn...

3) I learned ASM along hacking games. So, basically i have very limited knowledge about programming...

BTW, nice topic...

1. I've always loved discovering things, building things, and of course... video games. Naturally all of those life excitements merged into one life excitement known as hacking. And there's also those times when you feel like playing a game with an unfair advantage, which I was first introduced to back in the day when I bought a GameShark for my Playstation 1.

2. A friend showed me how to use CE a few years ago and that got me kicked off in the hacking area.

3. I'm still learning C I'm school, which of course is only the first language of the many I hope to learn. All other languages have C as the prerequisite at my school, so that's why I'm starting with C.

As said before, great topic.

Basicly in programming language there's a push and pull between human and computer comprehension. The higher the language level, the shallow the learning curve and visa versa. The benefits of lower level programming is that you have much more control over the software, but is muuch more tedious and even harder to debug.
