Sneak Peek

Postby L. Spiro » Fri Aug 03, 2007 9:47 am

This is a sneak peek at what is to come in the next version.

Added:
  • Auto-Hack (80%).
  • Not Equal To Data-Type Search (Documented).
  • Not Equal To Pointer Search (Documented).
  • Not Equal To Sub Search (Documented).
  • Search Bug Fixed.
  • Improved Breakpoint Handling.
  • Preprocessor (99%) (Documented).
  • Script Preprocessor (Documented).
  • Open for Debug (Documented).
  • Open Recent Now Sets the Working Directory.
  • Several Script API Functions (Documented).
  • Environment Variables (Documented).
  • Compiling Scripts Now Causes Script Files to be Saved Automatically.

Don’t mind the Stop/Clear All bug in the Auto-Hack for now; I am working on the Auto-Hack currently.

There are just a few things to finish (Auto-Hack) and a few things to add (ASM Tips) before the next release, which will be the first official release since the project was restarted.

This special limited-edition release is available only to those lucky enough to view this topic.

RRRRRRRR Sexy :-)

EDIT1:
small q: I notice that when starting this version, it 'generates' 2 DLL's,
LS_PP.dll and LS_scilexer.dll
Does this mean that the old scilexer.dll can be removed ?
(yeah, I copied new files into my old folder... just curious)

EDIT2:
Autohack is truly nice ! Very nice to no longer have to pop into Olly to see what code is checking or altering memory. You rock, mate. Gonna try some more stuff :-)

EDIT3:
Just wondering, if I select a memory location that I have saved and I rightclick n select "Find what reads this address", it makes the 4 values before and one value after the one I selected "unavailable". the rest of the values update as they should. I don't think it has anything todo with the values in ram themselves, as the addresses of these fields aren't even close to each other. Screenshot Just thought you might wanna know :-)

Yes.

Autohack is truly nice

Just wait until you see the version I have.

This is a normal side-effect of software read/write breakpoints.
People typically prefer to use hardware access/write breakpoints, however I am not sure if you have the option to change to hardware in the version you have (I added the option the next day).

For your information if you set a software read/write breakpoint on an address, all addresses on that chunk become unreadable.
Thus in your screen shot all addresses from 005E4000 to 005E4FFF are unreadable.

While in the hospital for my second lung collapse in 3 weeks I had plenty of time to work on the auto-hack and make a lot of features and add smoothness to everything.
Including interactive descriptions of the commands as you step, and as you select them in the auto-hack.

Since my home connection is so homosexual as to not allow a stable connection to FTP servers, all I can do is offer a teaser of the verbal kind.

Auto-Hack is done for the release.
Improvements were made to the Disassembler.
New script events were added for per-process functionality.
The Disassembler options are documented in the help file.
The Disassembler Imports/Exports helper tabs are documented in the help file.
Open for Debug now sets the working directory, so it is actually useful now.
Added a new kind of hotkey function.
Added ASM hints and explanations of instructions (including results after execution) to the Disassembler.

I will soon:
Add the stack display to the Disassembler.
Document most Disassembler features.
Document most Debugger features.
Make the current Debugger 100% compatible with the old breakpoint files (except possibly for old conditional breakpoints since no one used them anyway and they are a pain to convert to the new format).
Make the Found Addresses list display static returns in a different color.
Watch The Bourne Ultimatum.

It finds the code that reads/accesses/writes this address.
