Templates in Hex Editor

Postby fabsyi » Wed May 07, 2008 6:27 pm

Hi L. Spiro,

Just wondering if templates in the Hex Editor are planned for any time soon, as that would be a cool feature. By templates, I mean placing the definition of a structure over a random starting address and being able to see its members in real time, possibly with the correctly typed data.

Thanks

As said the requested feature was already part of the old version and did all of what you described.

They will be making a return with a new design and more features—the Hex Editor was actually designed 2.5 years ago to facilitate this and my parser to get standard structure definitions has recently been completed.

I am currently adding this to MHS and am about 50% done.
After this I plan to remake the logger and templates at the same time.

omg, Paimei functionality in MHS ???
That would rock !!

L.Spiro, will you use a proprietary database/file format or like paimei allow the backend to run on a MySQL database ?

Just asking because if you will implement mysql support (in MHS and LSS)
a few things that I am working on will become far easier then I had anticipated. Eagerly awaiting your reply :-)

I do not plan to back my end into MySQL.
My file format will be proprietary and magical. Sorry.
